Solid wood console
The idea for this console, designed by Ico Parisi in 1947 for a private commission, was born from a few lines drawn in one stroke on a sheet of paper. A horizontal line and two obliques define a structure with almost perfect proportions and an organic appearance. Cassina knew how to respect and enhance the heart of this project by combining technology with craftsmanship, typical of the company's carpentry. The result: a refined console table in solid wood adorned with metallic details that adapts to any environment in the home. The rectangular top has, on the two longest sides, near the ends, four straight cut-out slots into which, like real joints, the tips of the upper parts of the legs are screwed. The latter have a characteristic diverging “Y” shape. They are available in ash or Canaletto walnut and linked two by two thanks to a profiled crosspiece. Balance and solidity are guaranteed by two oblique elements in turned solid wood, joined diagonally to the crosspiece and embedded in the underside of the top
